Simply put The functional medicine model of care offers a patient-centered approach to chronic disease management. It seeks to answer the question, “Why are you ill?” so you can receive personalized, effective care for your needs. Functional medicine providers spend more time listening, testing, and strategizing with their patients compared to traditional medicine.

Functional Medicine for Pediatric patients helps identify issues while our children are still growing to isolate the signs of issues BEFORE we have chronic illnesses develop. We use state-of-the-art testing along with our in-depth consultation process to personalize a wellness track so our patients can avoid common adulthood issues. While we still use traditional medicine when warranted, we start with the natural route of nutrition, supplementation, lifestyle therapies, homeopathic remedies to avoid over-medicating our kids.

After being presented with extensive information during your visit, you may be feeling overwhelmed. Ms Niccole HIGHLY recommends bringing a notepad for note-taking during the visit or a piece of paper and pen will be supplied for this purpose. Kindly note that Ms Niccole WILL NOT send any follow-up emails containing notes from the visit.

Every child is amazing, unique, complex and deserving of healthcare that is not rushed, carbon copied, and respects the potential of the human body to heal under the right conditions.

To maximize the quality of the care in our office we do a few things differently than your common pediatric office. First of all we spend more time with our patients, ensuring everyone gets the answers and education they are looking for from the visit. Secondly we look at all our interventions through a holistic lens. This means sourcing knowledge from conventional medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, and even chiropractic to develop a strategy that maximizes healing and minimizes potential side-effects. Thirdly we recognize that every family is different and we are here to help you make healthcare decisions that are right for YOUR family independently from anyone else.

Insurance Coverage

Unfortunately, we are not in network due to lack of reimbursement for the amount of time we spend with our patients.  We do, however, accept CareCredit, Health Savings accounts and Flexible Spending accounts. Because of the extended time we spend with each patient, we have decided to dedicate our time to patient care versus insurance billing.  As such, full payment is expected upon online booking or at the end of each visit. However, we will provide you with a superbill containing diagnostic and treatment codes that you will need to submit to your insurance company to get some of your payment back according to your out-of-network policies.  Filling out an insurance claim form is very straightforward and should not take more than 10 minutes. If you have questions, print out the form prior to your appointment and we will assist you!
